What's New in r286
Release r286 was published on 15 Mar, 2022
After a short break we're back to our regular release schedule, and we have a big update for you today!
First of all is a new Templates feature. In short this lets you easily update entire sets of instances across your project. One instance can be set to be a "template", and other instances set to be a "replica" of it. Then whenever you edit the template, all the replicas automatically update. Normally we don't update the manual until the next stable release, but as this is a major feature we've posted this forum thread with more information on the new Templates feature if you want to find out more.
We've also got two new guided tours to help new users get started with timeline animations and JavaScript coding. As with the existing guided tour these take you step-by-step through the editor showing you exactly what to do. As there are now three of them, guided tours are now also listed in the Example Browser.
There's loads more changes, including updates for the Animations Editor, timelines and tweens, upgrades for various components, and a set of bug fixes too. Some of the bugs are relatively high risk so watch out for any breaking changes. See the changelog below for full details, and happy testing!
